Activating hunt sometimes makes me keep going backwards

I play with nothing but the keyboard. At seemingly random times, when I start hunting someone (press U, select with up/down arrows, press enter) my tank immediately starts moving backwards- without me touching any of the controls. When that happens, the client does not respond to the up or down arro...

Propane Tank, what distro is your server running? That will help us tell you how to install g++ and all that goes along with it.

Re: BZFlag 2.4.0 "Wake the Dead" released

I didn't only post OS X instructions. I also posted Linux instructions, and I'm pretty sure that both Acehart and wildrune11 were using those. Acehart quoted part of my Linux instructions, and wildrune11 has posted responses to it as well. Perhaps you missed my second post ? Wildrune11: Did you mod...

Re: BZFlag 2.4.0 "Wake the Dead" released

Wait.. actually.. it seems to have completely uninstalled itself :| I got onto it when I installed it, but now it's gone, I can't get back to it even on the superuser account. I searched my computer for it but it only returns the old version. In Terminal, enter this command: whereis bzflag What out...

Re: BZFlag 2.4 Release Candidate 3

I was wondering, could somehow it be possible for the update to be included in Update Manger on Ubuntu? Is that something down to BZFlag to organize or for Ubuntu to organize that? You could try contacting the maintainer for that package, which is the mailing list for Ubuntu's Universe repository. ...

Re: BZFlag 2.4.0 "Wake the Dead" released

Hooray! :D Damn.. I'm on Linux.. and I haven't a clue on how to install the new version.. and nobody is going to help me.. LOL. The best solution is probably to wait until it gets updated in your distro's repositories. That way, you'll be able to easily update or remove it using your package manage...

Re: BZFlag 2.4.0 "Wake the Dead" released

Wow! Looks amazing! Can't wait for a mac build... couldnt get it to build correctly myself. :/ I was able to successfully compile an unofficial build of 2.4 final for Mac. Download it if you wish, but be aware that downloading executables from strangers on a forum can potentially be a way to get ma...

Great! I just noticed though that I apparently never got around to checking the box to mark it as a Universal Binary.

Glad to help.

Re: IUseThis listing for OS X version

Well, the email never showed up, not even in my spam folder. Given my past experience, I suspect Yahoo mail is probably the culprit. I've set my IUseThis account to use my Gmail address, which should work without issue. Try resending the claim of ownership. If it still doesn't work, it's most likely...

Re: IUseThis listing for OS X version

Ok, good. I have manually emailed the people who run IUseThis to let them know that I approve the transfer in case the email never shows up in my inbox. If it does show up I will approve it in the normal, automated way. Yes, I am checking the Spam folder. if the email never shows, the IUseThis peopl...

Re: IUseThis listing for OS X version

BulletCatcher on Freenode's #BZFlag IRC channel said he'd take it over temporarily until the devs get back. Currently I still have ownership, but once I get the approval email from IUseThis I will approve it and transfer ownership to him. Then a dev will have to claim ownership from BulletCatcher. I...

IUseThis listing for OS X version

Back when I still played BZFlag, I created a page for the Mac version on IUseThis.com, a popular site for finding Mac apps. That makes me the admin for its listing, but because I'm not playing it I'm not updating its listing either. I'd appreciate it if someone else would take that over for me, espe...

Out of the literally 21 different browsers I have used to date, Firefox is my second favorite browser (Camino, my favorite, is not and will never be available for Windows). There are more reasons to use Firefox than just security. Firefox is faster, has a cleaner interface, has tabbed browsing, has ...

On boxy war, we figured out that it was possible to make the poll basically say whatever you wanted it to say but with the word "to set" in front of it. Someone made it say "A poll to set my underwear on fire has been started..."

On viper.pimpi.org, I spawned and thus had no flag. I saw one nearby, and a teammate of mine who already had a flag was sitting so close to it that he/she was touching it on the side, almost on top of it. I wanted a flag, so I went and picked it up; it turned out to be steamroller.
