Re: Just looking around

Another good thing would be to have the tank's current X, Y, Z, and angle shown, either all the time or on request. Then I could drive to where I want to put an object, face in the right direction, and write down what to use in the map file. This is a good idea, why bother with having a seperate wo...

You could achieve similar functionality with a groupdb file and local groups and passwords. You could make it so only selected players can play or chat. in your groups file have something like EVERYONE: -spawn -talk LOCAL.USERS: +spawn +talk users would need to /register and /identify. instead of us...

Usually it's the host operating system's job to resolve hostnames to IP addresses. Make sure you have the correct entries for DNS servers for your ISP (don't ask me where you change this in windows).

It could also be a mis-configuration of the servers you are trying to connect to.

I am very pleased with my usermode linux account with www.etecc.net they call it a VDS. 18$ a month with a 50GB transfer limit. I chose etecc because they had the lowest ping time from my home cable account. From my uml host I get 4ms ping times to google, wowee. I have noticed lag spikes occouring ...

To deny that the earth is flat is to deny the literal truth of the bible.

That is my last word on this, I apologize to all for getting dragged into OT territory.

Believe what you want. Don't tell me about it, and I will extend you the same courtesy.

If you are the type of person that gets annoyed when the last-place guy on your team always get killed by geno, don't play this new gamestyle ;D *everyone* on your team has to be 1. aware of the rules and 2. lucky or good enough to stay alive long enough to get the special base. It seems rare that t...

It only takes one guy who wants to focus on score instead of the actual goal (if the player even knows the rules in the first place) to keep his entire team from capturing. Of course its usually about 4 people who are clueless about the rules or want to focus on kills. 100% compliance is expecting t...

I was just told about the /idban command. It lets you ban a registered callsign from your server.

Syntax: /idban <#slot|+id|PlayerName|"Player Name"> <duration> <reason>

ok, thanks for the clarification. So global registration really has nothing to do with IP-based access control. All global reg does is authenticate callsigns, and provide an additional hoop(registration) for the griefers to jump through on servers which require it. Global reg is not a replacement fo...

So it would just force the offending player to re-register under a different callsign and email address. I think that email addresses are even easier to get than new ip addresses, is there a mechanism in place at the forum registration level to deal with chronic problem players? If not, I can't see ...

I was going to post this question to the announcment thread about the no IP-posting policy if your server is doing global auth, you'll pick up any username bans or removals automaticly How will this work exactly? would a username ban only prevent people from playing with that username, or would you ...
