lol, nice idea Valoche and Baron. :) hmmm, we'd need to find a way to allow custom tank textures to share with other clients on a server. Then again, that could open up a brand new can of worms.

Sounds like you found it in the code, binary. :) Nice job. Feel free to mod the client and have fun with it. I'm sure there's no unfair advantage in knowing what flag someone was carrying when they hit you. Does anyone check the feature requests? I thought sourceforge was the best place for my offic...

No, it wasn't on your server. It was a map very similar to yours, with the corner 'huts' and such on a very popular server in FFA game mode, with a ridiculously high shot count of something like 10. Oh well. Sometimes I never know what the name of a map on a server is because the name isn't mentione...

Nice info LouMan, thanks! Any data I can absorb about running bzfs in new ways on Linux helps me, even if someone else initiates the question. :) I've been wondering what command magic they use for automatic cycling of the maps.

ToughShooter, thanks for the screen shots! I figure I've complained a bit to other people about no screen shots that I have to make up for it by complimenting when someone does. ;) Haven't I seen this 'Spheres' map around before with more things in the middle, on a server? I'm not just talking about...

If you're using a router w/ a firewall, or a firewall software package, try it without any port blocking. I'm not sure if our list servers communicate on a port other than 80, so it's just a thought if nothing else works. Of course BZFlag servers use UDP port 5154 by default and +1 to the number for...

mugwump, Since you'll have another web space hosting the image, you can have it as large as they allow. This forum doesn't have any limits for it because you would link to it in your sig file. However I wouldn't make it too large as other readers would get annoyed if it is excessively too large. Lin...

This pretty much already exists, at least for certain flags. Here's just a few more memorable ones: IB ("didn't see"), MG, ("swiss [cheese?]"), SR, ("flattened"), etc... They don't have the wording set for each flag, at least not yet. It would be nice to add wording for...

Darn PM in phpBB boards... so easy to make a mistake on the name search thing. I sent it to you this time. Thanks.

That's actually a pretty good idea. It could be usefull, but at the same time, it could become a tool for noobs and anti-social people to annoy others. However, so many times I wish I could have got the attention of a teammate in front of me when I had ST... instead of trying to spend time typing (M...

yup, Agent Raven just did it in BZEdit. I looked at the file and it
wasn't manually edited at all, so looks like just a quick job. This
would help at the beginning:

Code: Select all

I'll put up a few for you. :) After all, it is a mini of a well known map,
so you might have been expecting people to know it.

When you log in to a server in the BZFlag client (the game), put in the same user named and password you use here ("DJ Atomica" and password).

When you're logged in to the server and it recognizes you as being registered, it will put a + symbol in front of your name on the scoreboard.

If you get this message on your monitor, it's using a combination of settings with a horizontal refresh rate that it's unable to use. Delete your BZFlag preferences file or just the line that says "set resolution" (scroll down a bit to find it). The file is located at: %UserProfile%\My Doc...

Thanks trepan, I'll PM you with it. As for the 3D modeller, you're forgetting the learning curve time I'd need if I used something like Wings 3D. :) Also the download, install, .bzw plugin, etc. As for the current map I'm working on, it's a remake from an older map I had. It was merely stating I didn't want to spend time with it if this sort of thing happens. I started this thread with a question, then my 'g...
