I'm using BZ 2.0.0, under Ubuntu Linux (debian derivitive) on AMD64. My plan is to base my chair so instead of hooking up to the computer, it hooks up to a game controller. Thus, the game controller should make it work without much coding.

ya, its the one from parallax. Not quite sure how to use it, but I know a little C and a little Basic. I might bypass it completely and just modify a game controller I have though, as I want to use parts easily available. Any suggestions for building a motion sensor? I'm thinking a small tin can, wi...

ok, i've got a game controller to work with here. This is my plan, so I don't need to do anything complicated: Construct several motion sensors, mount on chair. Have these hooked up to switches (on low power motors), which control higher power motors. These higher power motors control the game pad. ...

Rolly Chair

I have a rolly chair/spinny chair, plus some spair motors and a basic stamp. If I can figure out how how to wire up the basic stamp, I could probably get atleast turning with the chair, although not sure what to do for forwards/backwards. I'd use the height level for jumping. I think this could be f...

It could feature ActiveDeath technology to enhance the user experience Actually, if I get a snowday tommorow, I wonder how hard it would be to wire up a chair to some motors which turn a mouse or something, cause that would be pretty cool. And for jumping, it would just automatically use that pump ...

I just had an idea that many bz addicts would pay good money for...

A chair with a base that acts as a joystick, so when they jerk, the tank responds. Also, it should have forcefeedback, and throw them on to the floor when they get hit.

I generally manage to stay in my chair (its a rolly spinny one), but sometimes when bullets are coming at me, if I start turning my head way to the side like i'm trying to turn the picture.

Getting Too Into The Game [Home of the BzFlag Chair Device]

I haven't played bz for the better part of the school year (lots of HW to do), but I just got some more time recently and was pleasently surprised to find 2.0.0 (of course, I needed to Alien a Suse 64-bit RPM to get it to install on amd64 deb). Its great fun, but there is one thing I noticed. If I p...

Who said anything about ducati style? This isn't gonna be ducati. We'll have jumping. So far it seems no rogue, but the vote is when everyone is actually on the server tommorow.

ok,

everyone who signed up, come. I hope you can make it Ducati. Oh, as far as teh rogues go, you seem very against them. How about this, once everyone has come to the game, we vote, and if we vote no rogues, the rogues are evenly distributed about each team. That sound good?

Good point. I'll be there through the match. How about, if a rogue is consistantly picking on a team, i'll warn the rogue, and then kick him if he continues.

They don't win or loose. They are just there to disrupt things. Maybe we should have a rule that they are not allowed in the "Castles".
