Weekly user-submitted mapchange server
I've been thinking about a server where anyone could submit a map and have it put up on a decent server for a week. As of now, I am not aware if such a server exists. I know that there are many talented map-makers for bzflag, but not all of them have a chance to get their maps hosted. Basically, you...

GUI Admin System
I'm proposing an in-game GUI administrative system similar to the one implemented in Counter-Strike: Source and HL2 (via a plugin). Basically, there is an admin menu, which is brought up by a command (or a bind) that allows a player to do a variety of things. There could be sections for kicking/bann...

Re: Looking for the best mouse for BZflag
I'll put in another recommendation for Razer. I bought a Copperhead used off my friend for around $30 and so far it's a great mouse. It's 2000dpi, but if that's too much you can always scale it back to 1600 or 800. Although I never really liked using BZFlag with a mouse (I still use the keyboard) it...

Before i read this for an hour do i need to know c++? No, you do not. All you have to do is download the source code and run the compile script that is inside the directory (build.sh), provided that you have a compiler (you might need to download the apple developer tools) and the required librarie...

I can get around 60-90 on a crowded map like MissileWar2. During a GU match I usually have around 200. Anything below 30 gets a little tough to play on. A television set runs at about 60hz and is usually about 30fps. And movies play at 25fps. So 30 fps shouldn't be a problem :) True, but most monit...

I've had similar problems, however, not just with BZFlag, but with other games. It seems as if the whole system is going down, because the sound stays on for about 30 seconds after there is no response, then that goes off too. Usually, trying to switch to another console (CTRL+ALT+Fx) doesn't work, ...

I've found a driver for your chipset, but it's a windows binary. You can find it Here. I haven't found any linux drivers yet.

I run 3 computers using my connection for daily use (email, maybe some browsing), no server stuff, and it uses practially all my bandwidth. I have 3mb/s down and ~687kb/s up. I've hosted 1 and only 1 server holding about 10+ players and it starts to lag quickly. Assuming it's just you and your serve...

I like it. However, I think that the bank account should be reset after a certain amount of time, say 24 hours of no use. This could prevent a situation such as what too much loving stated. Also, there could be two different accounts, checking and savings. Savings could exist on 1 server only, but c...

 How about having a library of textures already in the map editor? That would make things alot easyer. A better idea might be making the map editor automatically download textures defined in URLs in the map file for display. Then, in addition to making existing maps easier to edit, one could ...

I currently have BZFlag installed from source and binary on a Core 2 Duo E6600 running Ubuntu Feisty 64. It seems that BZFlag crashes about 5 minutes into game play, sometimes more, sometimes less. I do not think that this is an issue with the dual core processor itself, but maybe an issue with 64bi...

I myself am having a similar problem. I am using an Asus P5N32-E Sli Plus motherboard and running Ubuntu 64.
