Re: Silent Bouncing.
I didn't understand all (is there, then, or not a real possibility to modify code to make this cheat happen?), but what I can tell is that sometimes the sound system fails: on jumps or on other sound events. As far as I understand, some events are broadcasting on UDP packets then sometimes they are ...

Re: Server List Communication Issues - September 30, 2021
On my Linux I got it to work by doing: 1) update all "openssl" packages (6, including "ca-certificates-mozilla") and, after they are installed , all "openssh" ones (2); 2) download the new certificate from https://letsencrypt.org/certs/isrgrootx1.pem , rename it to &quo...

Re: A link to a page that shows the last 10 or 20 replies would be ....
What I do, because automatic methods may fail and/or be not ideal or be confusing, is sometimes using manual methods (which are important too to take in mind). In this case, I log in (then I get a personal register of my reads by highlighted icons, etc.) and, then, I navigate the first page looking ...

Re: What a Robot!
09) 09.png 45 kills on 15 minutes. 1 kill every 20 seconds, on average. 13 kills in a row in total in about 2 minutes and I was not killing anything there (tho helping)! A new proof that they are not only a good company for a fun match but, also, that, with human mates understanding and helping the...

Re: What a Robot!
05) 05.png The robot had grabbed the purple flag some seconds ago and kept killing! At this point, analizing it coolly, I should have dropped the blue flag there and have helped it to capture. I guess I was surprised by its behaviour and wanted it to continue alone. 06) 06.png I dropped the blue fl...

What a Robot!
On a normal humans + robots match this situation caught my attention... and I, even, for a tiny moment, reached to think that somebody could have been driving (faking) the robot!: 01) 01.png 8 kills in a row made by the robot. Main factors that could have helped: a) its position somewhat near/near t...

Use autopilot robots but only on a local (non-public) server because, otherwise, it is forbidden, basically. You can, though, modify the server to allow it. More info on: Levels and Robots (Simplified Version).

Re: The Evolution of Tank Games (1974-2020)
Battle Zone is the predecessor of BZFlag (then the BZ initials). But, yes, BZFlag is Free/Libre software then it should not fit there, which seems a proprietary software list (though they should surely make a wider list). There are 2 visions of developing software: proprietary and Free/Libre ones. I...

Re: Levels and Robots (Simplified Version)
Sadly I have problems with licenses then I can't share codes. But this can be done manually too (like any other situation) if one understands the logic. Feel free to try it out and ask questions. It is a fun and challenging playstyle and also a complete system for playing with bots.

By seeing your "joining date", I can note you are an old player returning: welcome back! But, please, change your (old?) avatar... Linux is great! (a bit joking: Linux fan here.)

Adding to note #2: I don't agree with their decision of switching from Free/Libre/standard technologies to proprietary/fashion ones about their interchange of opinions and contents: Forum/Facebook (and others), IRC protocol/Discord, Forum/Mods private site, etc.

Re: Nice Real-Life Tank Robot (Toy and More)
I tried recently an excellent game I found some time ago, and it's, coincidentally, related to this thread: Colobot: Gold Edition - Alpha 0.1.6 Version (despite it has a so low number and it's alpha, as far as I know, its origin is about 2000 as a proprietary ready-to-use game, then we can see its a...

Re: givePoint and Retroreflector plugins
Not sure how a laser works in real life, but, if a laser weapon existed, and you were able to reflect it back (with a kind of "shield"), you should not die; only the shooter (tho, not sure if this could be made with custom flags/plug-ins). The "shield" could have a seteable count...

"Players try to capture team flags, while having their own team flag on their own base. Running over their own flag teleports it back to their own base. Players must be the last ones to have reached their own team flag as well." I see 3 possible interpretations of the 3rd requirement: 1) T...

Imagine 4 teams. A, B, C and D. - A and B lose their own flag; - A and B get C and D flags, respectively; - A recovers their own flag; - after it, B recovers their own flag; - "players must be the last ones to have reached their own team flag". Questions: 1) Only B can capture since they a...

Re: CTF as a sole focus
Make a hypotesis, in example "CTF maps without shooting are possible", then test it enough to convert it into a tesis: make good maps, in example one with SR on spawns with fun drawings/paths. Remember we are a small community, then the most sure is that, if you have a good idea, you will ...

Re: looking for a race plugin
Consider race maps, as far as I know, are never meant to allow shooting. I guess this is to avoid the complication to start again after the death and players can concentrate only on strategy and skills. Also, scores are not usually saved (not sure if HTF plugin will work since it's another game styl...

Re: Solo bot kick leads to client disconnect
From my experience, both using solo bots and asking admins about them (I have not checked the code), and as far as I know/understand/remember (you will have to check this in any case): - solo bots are not complete users; they are "half user", let's say (in example, they don't have complete...
