Re: "Demystifying Lag" not accurate
So.. put Bzflag on a ramdisk and don't play anyone or use any server more than 50 miles away from you. And give up on sucky isps.

Re: Deregistering from BZFLAG
Shame you see this on popular servers, brilliant maps, done by the people who are in the position to get rid of spawnkilling (admins) and improve the game.

Re: don't let BZFlag die
Maybe some big event like a geno free weekend on all big servers would be something fun and different, possibly even bringing in people who didn't like the game in the past.

Re: Spawnkilling Prevention
True, it just means people don't spawn in one area. If the fashion becomes for the spawn area to be as large as the safe area and that is reasonably sized then it will become hard to do it on as large a scale as MW2 has often.

Re: Spawnkilling Prevention
There is a plugin to force people to spawn normally, not on the team base. This does generally work, depending on the map, not Castle Warfare.
Maybe this could be included in BZ? And put back on Missile Wars.. why did it ever go.

Re: BZFlag 2.0.16 Released
Mac programs don't put the version number in the app, they put it in attributes (xattr), they often put a Applcations shortcut in the DMG, and the DMG goes a bit below the artwork.

Re: Midpoint Operations - a Red versus Green CTF
Centre is too easy. Six jumps from outside.. Either make it impossible when there are less than five people, or remove geno (or both, put something like multiple CL/T flags up there).
The map is good, but there may not be enough deflectors or reasons to move around.

Re: BZFlag 3-Dimensional
Are other forms of 3D doable on a normal screen, like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circular_polarization used by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealD_Cinema which is used by cinema 3D, which is far more effective and doesn't create headaches.

Really good, airy and plenty of levels. Might have some troubles with GM, didn't try it. May work better without radar.

So is this one way to do one thing of many that you can't because of timing, so timing is on the todo list?

I agree, but other people say that there are retro maps therefore your idea is pointless. So.. we won't get anywhere. MW2 for example should be tried in retro style.

Tbh there are a lot more 'do-without-this-for-a-week's to be done first, like no geno or all but louman's down but yes that too.

Re: GM and Missle War 2.3
Usually this problem is just a network glitch. Basically, the message saying to "end" the GM isn't getting through. GMs are handled differently than other shots in that they require an explicit "this shot has ended" message before they will stop. Normal bullets have a specific l...

As I said, I am not pushing my opinion on server owners, I am reminding the players of what other games always offer and what this game is capable of. As I've had to repeat pretty much every point, I hope it's clear and I can get some real responses to the exact issue, not neighbouring combinations ...
