Re: League Site Theme
Yeah, I agree with Dexter here. It's a good post and I think he kind of summarizes in the statement "The point I'm making is, if you've already started something like the new website and there are many good things about it, why not just invest that last bit of time to making it something really...

Re: GU site (UN)attracting players.
Maybe changing the default themes to something better would be a good start.

Re: League Site Theme
Although the idea of a site redesign is not new, the origins of the recent interest stem from a discussion about how to reinvigorate GU league and how to bring in new players. One recommendation I made was to enhance the appearance of the GU website and increase the content as well. I have heard man...

Re: GU League Player Poll - 20 min matches
If the trailing team decides the game is over, it is over. No matter if there are 20 min left on the clock or 10min. Any team can withdraw at any time, can't they?" QD, I couldn't agree more. That is exactly what I am saying as well -- "Any team can withdrawn at anytime, can't they?"...

Re: GU League Player Poll - 20 min matches
funny is that some of those voting 30mins dont really give any of their time to GU league. maybe they need 1hour matches to become more active. if activity isn't a thing that bothers you, ok. nty. who agrees just follow Well said izkull. I've also often complained that ANYONE can vote even people t...

Re: GU League Player Poll - 20 min matches
What I am hearing is that if a match is at the 29th minute and a team is down 10-0 and the losing team types /gameover then the match can not be reported because 30 minutes haven't been played. I know several matches when this has happened. As such those wins should be removed. My point in this conv...

Re: GU League Player Poll - 20 min matches
Of course there is nothing physically preventing players from doing such a thing...except that current GU league rules say official matches are 30 min in length. If you want to be in the league, a player in good standing, AND have your matches count, it would behoove you to follow the rules. http:/...

Re: GU League Player Poll - 20 min matches
There is nothing preventing two teams from playing a 20 minute match currently. If both teams agree to play 20 minutes they can just /gameover when 10 minutes left and report the match. As long as they both agree on a 20 minute match they can stop it and report. There is no reason to adjust the /tim...

Re: GU League Player Poll - 20 min matches
I predict this poll will end right after BZFlag 3.0 is released.
Also, I am holding my vote incase there is a tie.

Re: RULES
Smoooth, I challenge you to cite one example of when what you are saying actually occurred. Every time you were banned (that I can think of), the reason was clearly posted in the Bans section of the league website; and the reasons were not "opposed admins." Before I was an admin, I never ...

Re: RULES
We are all just a bunch of drones nodding our heads waiting for our gu admin leader to tell us what is good and bad. Please oh great leaders show us what is right and wrong in your eyes. Waiting for how the gu admin feels that day to determine if what we did was good or bad, or how long we might be ...

This statement is very unjust. We have never banned anyone for a wrong comment, if by wrong you understand mistaken. We have banned people for insulting players, sending bzmails with personal insults and nasty language. These are not "wrong comments" but "wrong attitudes". Playe...

Re: RULES
I generally agree that there should be a consensus by the majority of the players to change the rules. The only problem with that is unfortunately people don't read these messageboard or the rules for that matter. Also there is no "method" for allowing people to "vote" on somethi...

Re: RULES
Has it crossed your mind that you may be the only one who wants the game restricted to such a basic level? Has it crossed your mind that I might NOT be only person? Even slime expressed above anything with the word "auto" in front of it, is not a good idea -- and I completely agreed. (mac...

Re: league website
I feel the same way as strayer. I appreciate the efforts to improve the league but i'm also not a fan of the redesign in general. It seems messy and the rounded broken line "theme" seems as old and outdated as what is there now. I would recommend going one of two ways. 1. Make it very grap...

Re: RULES
Though the developers may release a version, it does not mean that all users can easily run it. For instance, with 2.0.14 or 2.0.16 (I forget which), we officially dropped support for Windows 2000. It may still work, but it's not "supported". And with Linux, it generally requires building...

Re: RULES
I am somewhat in agreement with Zac here. I do not hear a great cry out against mouse macros, and I don't believe the advantage is even that great (without a consistent turning speed throughout the move, you will still not get a perfect spread). If half or more of the population had an issue with i...

Re: RULES
Why allow ANY modifications? I say ban ALL modifications that makes it explicitly clear, if you touch the code it's illegal. Plain and simple, don't have to get into the details of what is allowed etc. There is no reason to make any modification to the code, ever. If you have a special piece of hard...

Re: "Demystifying Lag" not accurate
Well I think admin take for granted that people know that rules actually exist. No one complains because people really don't know what the other players are doing behind their connection. I talk to people privately, i hear, and watch, and am able to notice things, as do others, because we've been pl...

RULES
So I have talked about this for sometime and today I felt motivated to discuss errors in the rules. I am not the foremost expert on hax or other things that people "do" to circumvent the rules. I have heard of a variety of creative things that players do to skirt the rules. This should rea...

Re: "Demystifying Lag" not accurate
I will have to say the whitelist is completely ambiguous and poorly written, both points of view are completely legit because the rules contain contradictory statements in multiple places. I have lobbied for the "rules" to be re-written and clarified for over 3 years. They probably need to...

Re: "Demystifying Lag" not accurate
TS, you are nitpicking semantics. 1. Hardware Drivers ARE part of every operating system. Some are included in the kernel and others are added in later. Love to see any operating system work without hardware drivers. 2. I don't disagree that every player may have a worse connection than is indicated...
