Re: Rikers
Some of you may have strong feelings about this, so please try to think about it before saying I'm ruining Rikers or anything like that. Even good things can be improved. Your thread seems directed at the NA Riker team, since they would be the ones to hold the vote. The premise of a rule change has...

That's a lot of words just to say you don't mind Roo playing for Europe as long as his lag is tolerable.

Riker/Chestal training map: rico dodging
I have provided a server/map for pure rico dodging training for Chestal and Riker Cup -- just search for "rico" in the serverlist . I expect to take it down after Riker. If you are interested, there are some handy tweaks possible by adjusting the server variables (ask me in-game for a demo...

Re: New Silly Cup
I don't have much time so I'll split out the idea but forgive my directness. Not sure you understand the GU community well. Firstly people who promise to turn up then don't - well that happens in Riker so expect it. Secondly you don't seem to take into account time zones - you can predict fairly wel...

Re: A Matter of Principle
If our methods and performance are not ideal, where's the constructive part of your criticism? You communicate poorly amongst yourselves. I offered this criticism and I need not present it in a friendly manner. You also missed my hint that we need to hear from more admins to know if they are legiti...

Re: A Matter of Principle
And that principle is that the GU League should be first and foremost, a player's league. You know, 2014 starts my 7th year in GU and it is only this year that I have ever come across the idea that the GU Council is meant to act in the interests of GU players. So I'm not sure whether this principle...

Re: Proposal for rikers/chesval | increasing league activity
While the older players generally have a lot rust, they tend to know the game much better and have better teamplay. My example would be kris. He barely plays now besides Rikers but I don't think anyone would argue that he is one of the best euro players. Kris retired like 2 years ago. I'm thinking ...

Re: Proposal for rikers/chesval | increasing league activity
But I think the reason for having old/experienced players always play is 1) They are far better then the current 'pro' The NA Riker team of 2013 had a lot of veterans. They mostly just blew up in insignificant skirmishes shedding off their layers of rust but still having plenty remaining by the end...

Re: Riker’s Winter Cup 2014 North America vs Europe/Asia????
Let's use the following excerpt as a cross-section: As Admins, we do the best we can to keep the league fun for all. Over the years the GU admins have consistently refused to create detailed written rules covering every possible situation, despite repeated requests for such from a few players. I do ...

Re: Riker’s Winter Cup 2014 North America vs Europe/Asia????
The reason it doesn't include australians or people from new zealand is because of the lag. Then how was Janis allowed to play a full game with 350 lag + PL? There have been players who've played for both sides (they lived in the corresponding region at the time of Riker?), implying allegiances are...

Re: A new year, a new beginning.
I hope I didn't understand you...We were talking about resetting the ZELO rating and the player lists and not the monthly trophy. Bullet Catcher mentioned Seasons. A one-time ZELO reset... fair enough. But seasonal resets do not make sense in the context of rating systems. It also impractical to &q...

Re: A new year, a new beginning.
Changing the scoring system to give less weight to results as they get older This is basically some sort of system where players' rating gain/loss decays in relation to their past history. However this would mean inactives with 900 will gain rating, whereas inactive 2000 player will lose rating. An...

Re: Mouse Box Idea
Who should I be asking? Or how can I get this so that everyone has access to it? Whether or not it is accepted by the devs, at minimum it would take until the next release for everyone to get it through the installer. For the League side of things, technically you have to submit it to the whitelist...

Re: New Tournament Cup
Wait why is it 4 teams?
Even if you split 20 people into 2 teams you could just shuffle teams each time (or have new captains or whatever) and say whoever was on the most successful teams (winning/drawing) wins.

Re: New Tournament Cup
The ORIGINAL idea was for a noob cup...but that is too exclusive. It is a good idea to have it open to all, but to appease the greater good you should say that all Riker participants get lowest priority in the queue. That said, if you really found more than a 10 vs 10 of people who actually show up...
