OK, everyone above this post has been added and can now play on sigonasr2.servegame.org:9555 . I think at this rate, we'll finish up with four teams ready to play. Current referrees are Warinthestar and whodaman? which will be watching each round (at least one of them). Stay tuned for more info. If ...

BZSoccer Tournament

EDIT: As a note to others that read this post, the BZSoccer Tournament is no longer held. But there is a BZSoccer League found at http://bzsoccer.bzleague.com if you are interested. If you've seen the Twilight map "Soccer" up a few times, then you'll probably know what this is about. We'r...

The server is automatically set to localhost, and it'll try to put you in the map automatically. If it does not, hit escape and push join game and connect. If that still doesn't work, there's something wrong with your map. Push the "Stop..." button to see what error it gives if you can't s...

I agree, the ricochets itself aren't very good either. A good way to plan a ricochet map, is to see where bullets bounce off of, and all the possibilities, then start finding good ways to make those work and eventually create a nice map that takes skill and strategy than some mere luck.

We on the Twilight server use that system, but we also poll each user that submits a test afterward no matter what their score is. The current cops/admins can review the results of each answer, and if they've never heard of that person, can learn their personality that way. Score isn't a huge factor...

MOSHPIT comments

I have to admit, this is a pretty decent map. Good flag selections, nice places to hide and attack from, and has a good overall design. Nice job. :)

It is currently playing at unstable-bzflag.servegame.org:5001.

Windows has the tendency to dislike flags on servers. I can only put say, 75 flags before my server doesn't let me spawn anymore. You're going to have to make sure everything is ok. Can you submit your map and conf files, we can check them?

1. If I define a group but never instantiate it with the "group" directive, will it affect game play (take up memory on the client, slow fps?) 2. How about if I define a material but never apply it to anything? Will the client even be directed to download it? 3. What about defining a mate...

1. The air duct is hard to get into (the grate is drivethrough) 2. The cubicle walls are hard to navigate because of the meshboxes overlapping 3. GM spawns on the roof instead of on the water cooler 4. The textures on the air ducts need tweaking (rotation and scale) 5. Needs a lot more thought on f...

A spawn zone the size of 10 1 1 is VERY tiny. This is pretty much like every tank spawning right on each other, and as A Distraction has stated before, use -sb to allow the spawning on buildings. Try making your spawn zone around 125 65 1 and see what happens. (Giving an example)

Simply go through the mesh (Since you're using Wings3D, I know how the program writes all the code when exported), go into each face, and find matref clear , or the name of the material you put for it to be drivethrough. You can remove the clear material and matrefs if you don't plan on using them. ...

Tank First-Person "view" Question

OK, so I used to have part of the front of my tank showing through the HUD, so you were kinda looking at your tank slightly, while still seeing the aiming box and everything in front of you. Now, all I see is the box. The bottom part is just the ground (Or whatever's there) and the message box and r...

You can't control the player's first spawns in CTF mode, and you can't control which base they spawn at either. I would just recommend you stick to one base CTFs, or make it so both bases can be used intentionally.

OK, so say my mesh was at an estimated center position (I'm testing with a box that's a mesh) 65,65,10 and it was size 25,25,3.

So, if I put an inside point at 66,84,11 would it work?

If it does, I'd also assume that -20,18,45 won't then.

Using Inside Points

OK, so I've looked through the BZFlag wiki to get some help on making my mesh. OK, all is well. But, I don't want people to spawn inside of the mesh, so I understand I must create an inside point. When I do this though: inside 0 0 0 It works, but there's always some type of invisible wall. I also ex...
