Not that I'm for P2P, but using it would greatly reduce the number of laggers, spammers, cheaters, etc. Of course the logical reason for this is that there would be fewer of all players, and that would inherently reduce problems on [any] server(s). And now for my rash and juvenille opinion: P2P is s...

If someone were to set up a BZFlag MySpace, the worst possible (and it happens to be the most likely) scenario would be having the game (and forums) flooded with noobs. Most of them would leave and never play again before getting to be good players. And they would just go back to MySpace. Do we real...

I had this problem for a little while too. Only it would take about 30 seconds instead of 10 minutes. I don't know why, but the problem just went away after a little while. I also posted on these forums for help but got none. I would like to know what is up too.

anyway to tie these into say xmms or beep to control my mp3's? seen a mac "plugin" but I might have missed a linux solution. I heard about that, but I would think mp3's would be too big. And how would you have other people hear it without setting up connections between clients. And wouldn...

I "defined" my quick keys, but I don't use them. I don't know why, but I find it easier just to type some things in. And I don't remember what all my quick keys are :D. I've known about it for a very long time.

I never said the player would have to give up their score. You could just implement the kill counter to work behind the scenes (Kind of like the kill counter a Boxy).

On ctf, one of the most useful things you can do with thief is to steal the opposing team's flag from one of your own teamates, if they are under attack, which they should be. This way the flag jumps from one side of the field to the other, and you can sometimes get away with a cap. I tried it out ...

How about having the good flags surrounded by teleporters that will only let you in if you have a certain [specified] number of kills? Maybe you could have a players kill counter be reset everytime they went inside the teleporters.

I have never tked at all ever.

But seriously folks, the most I ever tked at once was yesterday at "The Two Castles" with a Geno shot that ricoched back at me. It was about 5-6 team mates I killed. Of course this was right after I hit the other team with geno twice. :D

By the way. I don't know if you already know about this and don't care or what, but tanks tend to get stuck in these jagged places. Is this problem solvable? I have been killed quite a few times when I accidentally drove too close to the wall.

Cool map. Seems a bit more open than in the past, or am I just imagining that? I hope you didn't change it too much. I liked it before and after applying the changes listed above.

I noticed that when shooting through the bunkers, ( to the left or to the right of the center opening) the shots are lowered in height a little bit. Is this intentional? I didn't get a chance to see if it affects burrowed tanks.

I am the first one to vote for "The Two Castles". You can't beat a good CTF map like it, and it's CTF aspect of it isn't destroyed by laser sniping. (To a certain extent.)

Not all people have high speed connections and good lag. People with high speed connections may be able to play anywhere, but wouldn't you want people with lesser connections to play in their region so they don't disturb the quality of your game? And wouldn't pinging servers at regular intervals cre...

Maybe you could have a trail of slime be secreted from any tank with this flag.:P If this was intended to be a good flag, you could make the shots go farther, but with decreased speed. Kind of like a reversed Rapid Fire Flag. Hasn't a reversed Rapid Fire flag already been proposed? If this was inten...

I voted for "The Two Tanks" to be shut down (Although I wish neither of them to be gone). I never really got into "The Two Tanks". It has a similar style to that of "Boxy War", but it is way too big in my opinion. "Missle War" isn't too big, and it really prom...

List Server Organizer

Just throwing an idea out there. What if BZFlag adopted a way of organizing the list server according to region (U.S. East, U.S. West, Europe, Asia, etc.)? This concept has been applied in some cases on Battle.net, and probably for other games as well. If the first thing people saw on the "Find...

What you have to remember about a game like BZFlag is that 250 BZFlag hours translates to 500 real world hours. You can go for days without eating, drinking or sleeping. As for me, I'd say it took about 499 hours. That would be about 998 hours that I missed out on in real life. --A Distraction...

How to get good.

I've always been an experimenter. I just try new techniques to see which ones work. I also observe other players to see how they play.

Reading the tactics threads in the forum is a complete waste of time to me.
