iirc, you can open up synaptic and download the files for there. Search for libcurl and libcurl-dev. (the second one has the header files needed to compile)

Re: Beginner questions-shooting etc.

Unfortunately, since this game wasn't made to be played over the internet, there is no compensation for lag. Also, whether a tank gets killed or not depends on the person being killed. This means that where a tank is on your screen, may not be where the tank is on the other player's screen, and if i...

I notice you have yim, it'd be easier to do this over im, or, if you know how to, get on irc at #bzflag or #bzflag-chat

Also, it's new years eve.

Yes. The words that come after "bad argument."

Please, I understand you don't know how to do this very well, but please, please read what I say, it would make things a lot easier for both of us.

Re: Guide on How to Run a BZFlag Server on Mac OS X

Okay, if it says "bad argument: ANYTHING" then, go check in the config for those words. Also, make sure you aren't hitting extra keys on your keyboard when typing in the bzfs command. If you run from shortcut, make sure there isn't anything extra in there.

ducktape The point: so people could check the gu site on their iphone or other cellphone. And no, you wouldn't need a new site. You could just make the site check if the browser is on an iphone/cellphone, and redirect. ashvala However, creating this will take a lot of work, and might be harder than...

Open up task manager, open the processes tab, and check if bzfs.exe is there, if so, end/kill it, if not, try and run it again.

The point of this is so you can go across the world, forget your laptop, and still have BZFlag.
Not to mention, many, many people have shown interest in something like this, including you.

Re: ROOMSwithinROOMS

I played on this map yesterday, and I really liked it.
I liked having the jumping flags and 1 powerful wings flag, so it's unfortunate that you couldn't get -fb working without jumping. But I haven't tried this new version yet, so I may change my mind! :D

Great idea, and great map!

Re: Guide on How to Run a BZFlag Server on Mac OS X

Cheese Man It is NOT giving back the same error. It cannot, because the word "test" is NOT in your config file ANYWHERE. Seeing that you do not know what the "options" object is, it is not a problem with that. Now, using the config I posted, and changing the -publicaddr to your ...

Are you getting the same error?
If so, check your map's options settings, and look for the word "test", and make sure everything is in correct syntax.

If you are getting a different error, post it here.

Re: Guide on How to Run a BZFlag Server on Mac OS X

To get rid of that error, "bad argument 'test'", try getting rid of that mass of commented out lines. This should be all that you should have in your conf file: -admsg "Remember: Now swearing, cheating or teamkilling. Be nice and enjoy you'r stay!" -autoTeam -c -d -d -disableBots...
