Nintendo 64 usb classic controller from Retrolink
I have recently acquired an N64 usb controller and have been trying it on bzflag. I am using Linux, in particular Fedora Core 16. I am having problems with the analog joystick on bzflag, it is behaving like a digital joystick. In other words, regardless of the degree I move the joystick from center,...

...but how about every time the king is killed a new one is randomly selected... I personally think that The high score approach is better since it focuses attention on the players with the high scores so things get balanced out. but there could be an option for either way like with rabbit hunt. .....

New Game Mode: Kill the King
This game mode makes having a higher score more challenging to keep, and killing a higher scored enemy tank more rewarding, as well as encourage tanks on a team to defend one another (i.e. more teamplay). Each team has one King. A King is selected by having the highest score in their team, similar t...

Venn Wars by Sparky1
Introducing my first map, Venn Wars. It is intended to be a strategy oriented FFA map. I call it Venn Wars because the intersection of the SWs result in the appearance of Venn Diagrams on the radar. I made it using BZEdit1.6.5 with some text editing. Basically there are 9 "teleporter rooms"...

I thought of an interesting version of your map, only thing is that it depends on a feature that I'm not sure if BZFlag has. It regards the use of multiple team flags on each team. Can each of the team flags be distinguished by more than just what team it is on (for exampled labeled as r1*, r2*, r3*...

Sparky1: If hbar (no symbol on the KB) was 10, would it be safe to cut open a water melon (200mm across with pips weighing in 0.1 gram) ? Once the whole BZ community can explain the answer, I'll help you write the code for Quantum Physics flags, at least then people would have a chance of understan...

wtf? seriously... wtf? how can that be fun at all? Quantum mechanics has a lot of cool properties, there is a great deal more to work with in Quantum mechanics than classical mechanics, and I don't see too many games that take advantage of QM's tremendous potential. I'm just throwing around some su...

Quantum Plane Flag
Here is perhaps my craziest BZFlag idea so far. A new Flag that I like to call the Quantum Plane Flag (or QP). Basically the bullet behaves like a quantum, where it starts off like a wave and has multiple locations, has the capability of tunneling through boundaries, and when encountered by a tank c...

Ball Flag
I thought of an easier way to implement something similar to my Sport mode concept by just adding a new flag, thus more likely to be seen sooner. I call it the Ball flag or BA. This idea is a compromise between the current styles of BZFlag and my Sport mode idea. Let me know what your thoughts are. ...

However, I have thought of a way to use a tiny flag as the ball. If I made the _tinyFactor .95 or something close to that of a real tank, the flag wouldn't be very useful to the holder. Then, I'd make an area just big enough for the tiny tank to get into in the bases. Your team flag would spawn in ...

With the baseball thing, you're going to have people waiting around to play. I think with the sort of game BZFlag is, you're going to want to keep the players active at all times. Perhaps bots could be used as place holders, and be replaced as players join? Although, I would think that with the cur...

Well, if none of this is possible, are you suggesting we make BZFlag even more flexible? I think you need to first make some maps so you can see what is possible. Just a suggestion. I'd have to admit that sigonasr2 is right about me needing map making experience. One of these days I'm gonna have to...

bzbaseball
I've seen a lot of cool bzsport maps l8ly, however one map that i've yet to see but would like to, is bzbaseball. If your not familiar with the format of existing bzsports I'll sum it up: You have 2 teams, red and blue, a green flag is used as a ball and starts in the mid, and the red and blue bases...

Sport Mode
I noticed that there are a lot of recently created cool sport maps. In those maps a team flag is used as a "ball", and bases are used as "goals". I think that there is even more potential for great maps if there would be a game mode where a bullet behaves like a "ball"....
