Re: A new matching variant for GU league
well i'm a little confused about all the ramifications of this. here are my thoughts/questions: do we expect more activity with this option as opposed to people just fun matching when officials can't be arranged? i'm not sure i see the reason more activity would be expected. maybe when it's a novelt...

Re: Farewell Murielle
bye muri.....i enjoyed our too short friendship and won't ever forget you.
you are one of the most charismatic people i have ever had the pleasure to know in bz.
my regards to your family. i cannot even imagine how hard this loss must be for them.

Re: Please Read
i think the mute ban idea has a lot of merit, especially in those gray areas, where a comment isn't malicious, but probably something kids would be better off not seeing. matching without talking is easy-i do it all the time cause i can't talk while i'm concentrating on a match!

Unfortunately it doesn't help when people actually have multiple GU site accounts or register new ones and abandon their old accounts.

Capping- Rule Clarification
i've been asked to clarify when a last second cap is legal or not. if the cap occurs before the Game Over message, then it is legal. please realize that any individual client may see this differently, depending on his/her lag. the determination is made by the server side replay. if you check the rep...

Re: does dpi matter?
well, here we go again. it used to be discussions of mouse speed enhancing software. now high dpi mice. this is nothing new, they've both been around a long time. throw in a small mousebox and you have a really fast responding tank. throw in a blazing internet connection, and you're all set. yep, al...

Re: Frequent name changes
I am annoyed too. Same goes for the team name changing thing and the fast deleted teams, so that some matches cant be entered anymore. red, if you need a match reported for a team that already was deleted, the webpage can handle that by reinstating the team, entering the match, the...

That took some real planning, and some great camera angles. How long did it take you to get all the video? Donny, yes, i thought about it for a couple weeks. then, i had to shoot the recorded battlefield action about 15 times until i got some skill using the observer keyboard keys to roam and re-sh...

my bzflag movie!
well, i finished my bz movie. it was a lot of work. brad is hosting, but Saturos, coin , and malaria may host it also. it was made on a mac and saved as a QuickTime movie. linux users seem to be able to view it ok, but windows users maybe not. i think the vlc viewer for windows works. if necessary, ...

toki: It seems dangerous to end a match at 10-8 if there are 10 minutes on the clock still, wouldn't you all agree? toki made a really good point, and cbg had some good ideas about it...and then bamf and zongo came along with statistics and ruined all the good objections. :lol-old: so keeping it sim...

length
hmmm....i get the point in shorter seasons encouraging play maybe...
but i am leaning toward 2 seasons per year with no break in between.
so if there is no concensus, experimenting with different lengths is is all good.

That annoying laugh!
this is a minor thing, but i do not like that laugh when you lose ctf. it's like the program is trash talking us for losing!! hehe. i would prefer an extraordinary massive explosion sound to the laughter. the veterans are probably used to the laugh, but i find it extra annoying when being clobbered ...

I think I'm beginning to understand this!
Thank you again, Jormungandr! It is getting clearer to me! The problem I'm left with is that my registered name here on the forum will never match my player name on the servers, since I had to shorten my name here for the registration to go through. I wish the forum allowed a longer name, such as &q...

Thank you very much for the response. I did as you explained, and entered username and password from the pre-2.0 server in the 2.0 server sign on screen, but I got the same result. Although now I understand not to bother using the /identify or /register commands, the server still won't recognize me ...

Registration Problem Requires Me To Change My Player Name
When I registered for the forum, I had to shorten my player name from AlexanderTheGreat to AlexanderTG. That was the only way the registration would go through. Now I am wondering if this is preventing me from being recognized as being registered on 2.0 servers. I would not mind typing my name in ea...
